Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian claims that the Ukrainian authorities have not provided evidence that Russia used Iranian drones during military operations. The minister also said that Iran “does not support the war in Ukraine.”

During an interview with CNN, Abdollahian was shown photographs of an allegedly Iranian drone found in Ukraine. The presenter stressed that Iran presented drones of the same model, including at international exhibitions. The minister said that Iranian experts met with representatives of Ukraine to discuss this issue. At the meeting, “blurry satellite images” were allegedly presented as evidence.

“Our experts have studied these photos, and they have nothing to do with Iran. And now for four months we have been waiting for the second round of negotiations and we expect that they (representatives of Ukraine. – Kommersant ) will provide real documents. The Ukrainian team says that (they will meet. Kommersant ) in two weeks, soon, but nothing happens, ”he says.

The Washington Post reported that Moscow and Tehran agreed at the end of 2022 to produce hundreds of UAVs on Russian territory. The Russian Foreign Ministry denied this . The Iranian side admitted that the country supplied drones to Moscow, but “in a small amount.” These deliveries were allegedly carried out before the start of the military operation in Ukraine. Iran also did not confirm plans to build a plant for the production of UAVs together with Russia. The European Commission has proposed imposing sanctions against Iran.
